Roof Leak

When the rainy season picks up we received a lot of phone calls regarding water damage from roof leaks. This customer had a roof leak that damaged their attic and a couple of bedrooms. When an attic has insulation that is water damaged we remove it as soon as possible. The insulation can't be dried out and when it absorbs the moisture becomes heavy and sometimes will cause a ceiling to sag or collapse. We have special vacuums that suck up the loose blown-in insulation. Once the insulation is removed air movers are sometimes placed to assist in drying out the rest of the structure. Dehumidifiers are too heavy and large to place in the attic so they can be vented from a room below with an access to the attic.
